The Students’ Union operates two main bars, each with their own distinct personality. The bars are both a stone’s throw away from all the student halls of residence, and during the day are great places to relax and have a bite to eat. Then at night, they come alive with all sorts of events and parties. They can even be hired for Sports and Society events.

Bar Latitude is minutes away from the University’s Greenwich campus, and is the perfect place to relax between lectures. It’s daytime café experience offers big sofas to sink into, large screen TVs, as well as a quality sound system for bands and DJs on a Friday evening. During the week, we offer a range of pub-style entertainment including stand-up comedy, Open Mic night, Bingo and quizzes.
The bar has a resident chef and a full menu of home cooked food and drinks on offer, with many Vegetarian and Halal options available.
If you’re feeling competitive, we have pool tables in each room. There is also a room for hire near to the bar, available for sports and society meetings and events, vending machines and a free cash machine.
PLEASE NOTE: Students can have up to 2 guests enter the bar with them - these guests can be other students or otherwise. All guests that are not members of other NUS-affiliated organisations must be over 21 and have photo ID to prove this.

Sparrows Farm
New food menu coming online soon!
Opening hours (term-time only): 7pm Monday - Friday and 12pm Saturday; closed Sunday. Closing times vary.
Sparrows Farm is located within the university campus next door to Charlton Athletics’ training ground and just a short walk across the sports fields behind the student village at Avery Hill. It has recently been refurbished with new decor, lighting and sound systems! It also holds more people now, giving lots more students the opportunity to enjoy our themed nights and special offers.
The Bar is a very traditional and welcoming venue, with a large beer garden where BBQ’s are held during the summer. Sparrows boasts six plasma screens which show all the sports games you would expect, as well as all premiership plus games. In addition there is also a Big Screen for more popular games. Sparrows also have a late licence on Fridays and Saturdays so you can expect some great parties throughout the year.
We run regular events as well as one-off themed and promotional nights. There is also a licensed room for hire, available for Sports and Society meetings/events.
