The Law Society is delighted to announce that Mr Courtenay Griffiths QC, has agreed to speak to us about his career and life at the Bar. This event will be held on Wednesday 1st February 2012 at 1830 hours, in QA 080. Following his talk, the Law Society has arranged tea and coffee available for all.
Mr. Courtenay Griffiths has been a QC since 1998 and is currently a member of Garden Court Chambers. The current areas he practices include Claims Against The Police and Authorities, Courts Martial, Crime, Inquests, International Advice and Litigation. His criminal practice ranges from fraud to terrorism, murder and serious public order to drugs. Most recently Mr Courtenay Griffiths QC has been to Sierra Leone to appear before the Special War Crimes Tribunal in that country.
Some notable cases that Mr Courtenay Griffiths QC has been involved include the Brighton bombing, the Canary Wharf bombing and the Damilola Taylor murder trial. Additionally, he chaired the Public Affairs committee of the Bar Council, and was for several years the Chair of its Race Relations Committee.
