Frequently asked questions

So you'll leave here with a degree. So what? So will 300,000 other people this summer! Make sure you've got something to offer the world that they haven't!

What is BITE?

BITE is a training programme offering FREE training in transferable skills, such as time manegement, presentation skills and meeting skills. Click here for a full description of courses and the timetable

What's in it for me?

You stand out from the crowd! As more and more people go to university, a degree is no longer enough to get you a job or further study. By developing your transferable skills, you're showing potential employers that you did more than just go to lectures and the bar at university! You should also find that your life becomes a lot easier once you out your new found skills into action. At the end of each session you'll get a certificate of attendance to add to your portfolio/record of achievement. On top of this, you get the chance to meet new people who aren't in your hall of residence/on your course. What more could you want?!

What are the courses like?

They're fun, friendly and informal. All are run by fellow students at Greenwich University. They last only 90 minutes, run at convenient times, and they all have an emphasis on acquiring practical skills that you can put into practice straight away. We won't duplicate your lectures or talk at you!

Who should attend?

Absolutely any student who wants to improve their skills and chances of getting a job is welcome!

What do students who have attended think?

We always ask participants for feedback, and last year, 87% of students said they thought the course they attended was "Good" or "Excellent". The kind of training on offer to you through BITE is of the highest quality, and would cost a lot more anywhere else. So come along and find out for yourself!!

How do I sign up?

Have a look at the courses and timetable and decide which courses you would like to attend. Then either go to your campus SU reception, phone Rebecca Leadbitter on 020 8331 8018 or email her here.
