Welcome to Your Union

The Students' Union is a democratic organisation run by students for students to represents student views to the University at all levels and to provide support services for its members. SUUG provides a means for students to voice their own views, and assists students to organising the activities and services that they want.


All members can vote for and stand in the annual elections for Students' Union officers. There is an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the start of each academic year, which allows all members the opportunity to voice their opinions, approve the Union's finances and scrutinise their officers' achievements.

 

Constitution

The constitution set-outs the ground rules for how the Union works and what it does. This includes the rules for elections, meetings, clubs and societies volunteering and basically everything the Union does. The Constitution is decided by General Meetings and subjectto approval by the University's Court of Governors. All officers and members are expected to abide by the Constitution.
