The Clubs & Societies Department is like a Union within a Union. Consequently the role of Vice President Sports & Societies is one that performs all the roles of the other Sabbaticals for one specific group, i.e. finances, convening meetings, campaigning.
 The VP Sports and Societies specific duties are to:
    Make recommendations to Sports & Societies Council regarding Colours and Awards.
-Convene Sports & Societies Council; chair the meetings (or nominate another), where a conflict of interest arises; ensure minutes are accurate and correct.
-    Accept applications from and recognise new Clubs & Societies.
- Approve non-student members of Clubs & Societies.
-   Approve Clubs & Societies financial transactions and expenses
-  Collate and hold contact details for Clubs & Societies Committees.
    Accept Clubs & Society budget requests and subsequent additional funding requests.
-     Allocate budgets and additional funding to Clubs & Societies as necessary.
-    Present Clubs & Societies budgets to Finance & General Purposes Committee.
- Approve donations with reference to the terms of reference for Clubs & Societies.
-  Suspend Clubs & Societies Members pending disciplinary hearings as necessary; impose disciplinary measures on Clubs & Societies Members; sit on the Clubs & Societies disciplinary panel.
- Maintain a Clubs & Societies assets register.
-   Act as signatory for the Students' Union's bank accounts
-Accept disciplinary charges from the student body about students.
 
Which Students' Union Committees do I sit on?
 -   Finance & General Purposes Committee - provide a fully financial plan to the Students' Representative Council and University Court; select an auditor and be responsible for the completion of the audited accounts which are presented to the University Court and Union General Meeting; be responsible for compiling the Annual Report; consider complaints made by the student body against students.
-      Students' Representative Council - write reports for this body on your progress and any University Boards & Committees which you attend.
-      Students' Representative Council Executive.
-     Sports & Societies Council.
-     Staffing Committee - depending on who is drawn by lots.
