Sports Awards celebrates individual, team and club achievements in Sport at Greenwich.

Awards include club, team, fresher and sportsperson of the year, as well as celebrating those who will be graduating this year and have achieved Colours or Blues for their commitment and success during their time at Greenwich.

This year we are offering the option to pay the full cost of the tickets straight away, or to put down a £10 deposit and pay the remaining balance when loans come in on 4th April.

After the deposit deadline tickets will remain on sale at full price until the deadline for all ticket sales or the event sells out.

Guests and Students can also get a £5 Afterparty ticket which will give you transport back to Sparrows and entry to SOAP.

This year your ticket includes a sit-down two course meal, with choices from the following options:

If anyone has food allergies that mean they cannot eat the options provided then please select 'food allergy' from the list when submitting food orders, and either fill in the box at the end of the form or email details to so we can discuss a suitable menu with the caterers.

Seating Plan

You need to submit your food order and seating plan at the same time, through an online form, before 6pm on Thursday 7th April to guarantee your order and preferred seating arrangements.

The venue has tables that hold a maximum of 10-11 attendees, so please get together with other members of your club and submit your food orders together in groups, specifying which sports club you are from. You can submit orders for groups of less than 10/11, however please be aware that we may place you with another group of attendees to maximise the space available in the venue.

Awards & Colours


Most of the awards given out use an open nomination and club voting process to decide who wins.

  • We will be accepting nominations from any student until 6pm Friday 25th March.
  • Nominations are through an online form for each award and found here.
  • A list of nominees will be created from all nominations by a panel including union staff and officers who will decide whether the nomination form holds sufficient information to shortlist the individual/club/team.
  • The shortlist (with details from nomination forms) will then be sent to sports clubs to vote on who they think deserve to win that award and clubs will have until Friday 15th April to return their votes.

Colours & Blues

Colours are awarded to students who have consistently represented University teams in a specific sport, performed at a high standard or shown a constant commitment to their club for two or more seasons.

Blues are awarded to student who have participated in their sports at a regional level following a selection process.

Full blues are awarded to students who have participated in their sport at a national or international level following a selection process.

Colours and Blues nominations should be returned to by 6pm Monday 18th April (one list per club).
